At D2L, we take our desire to grow seriously. That’s why we’ve rolled up our sleeves, donned our gardening gloves, and created a thriving community garden at our headquarters in Kitchener. The HQ community garden is a D2Ler-run initiative designed to bring D2lers together to nurture connections, destress, have fun, spend time outdoors, learn a new skill and enjoy the harvest. The volunteers worked together to plan the garden, gather the supplies and do all the planting. They organized a schedule to manage the ongoing care and maintenance of the garden including watering and harvesting.
The garden was planted in early June and includes a wide range of veggies and herbs, including tomatoes, beans, squash, peppers, lettuce varieties, cucumbers, root veggies and herbs galore. The gardeners have already enjoyed a bountiful harvest and made it available for D2Lers to take home and enjoy.
