Working as an end-user support coordinator at D2L has been an incredibly rewarding experience. From the start, I knew D2L was a place where I could not only contribute but also grow. A conversation with a D2L campus ambassador gave me a glimpse into the company’s supportive culture, which only increased my excitement about joining the team.
Meaningful Projects and Real Impact
During my co-op, I had the opportunity to work on a range of projects that were both challenging and meaningful. Some of the key highlights included:
- UX Testing for D2L Lumi Chat AI: I helped identify areas for improvement, enhancing the tool’s functionality and contributing to enhanced user experiences.
- Analyzing Client Data in Salesforce: By examining call drivers and satisfaction metrics, I was able to provide actionable insights to help improve customer service outcomes.
- Evaluating Agent Performance: I reviewed performance metrics for over 100 agents, identifying areas where efficiency, quality and cost could be optimized.
These projects not only expanded my technical skills, but also provided a deeper understanding of how my work supports D2L’s larger mission of transforming the way the world learns.
Support and Growth Every Step of the Way
One of the standout aspects of my co-op at D2L was the incredible support from my team. I shared a couple of learning challenges with my manager, and she was genuinely interested in understanding how she could best support me. Her proactive and supportive approach made a significant difference, but she also encouraged independence. She trusted me to take ownership of projects, and when I hit roadblocks, she pushed me to problem-solve on my own to the best of my ability. At the same time, she was always there when I needed further help. This balance of support and autonomy helped me grow both professionally and personally, setting me up for success throughout my co-op term.
Beyond my day-to-day tasks, I also worked on initiatives like creating knowledge-sharing frameworks and developing D2L Brightspace training materials to streamline employee onboarding. These other responsibilities gave me a sense of ownership in the work I was doing and a deeper connection to D2L’s goals
Building Connections Through the Co-op Community
A key part of my experience at D2L was being involved in the Co-op Social Community. Whether it was a trivia night, bowling, an arcade, board games or very competitive games of ping pong, the events provided a great chance to connect with other co-ops, share insights, and build lasting relationships. This sense of connection made my time at D2L even more rewarding and helped create a supportive network over these four months.
Looking Ahead
Looking back on my co-op, I’m grateful for the chance to work on meaningful projects, collaborate with a supportive team and connect with fellow co-ops. What really stood out to me was how committed D2L is to set up co-ops for success and personal growth. You won’t be making coffee runs here; you’re trusted with real responsibilities that make an impact. My time at D2L has shaped the way I approach problem-solving, teamwork, and my professional development. The skills and experiences I’ve gained will be valuable as I move forward, and I’m excited to carry what I’ve learned into the next chapter of my career.
