JOB SUMMARY:
Implementation & Training Services help new and existing customers successfully onboard and launch D2L products. We prioritize partnering with our customers by adopting a consultative approach.
As an Implementation Consultant/Trainer for Course Merchant, you will lead implementation projects and deliver product training across all verticals (K12, Higher Education, Corporate, Government). Being the client's main project and technical lead, you will work closely with any D2L departments necessary to ensure that each client is prepared and enabled for their launch. As a Trainer for Course Merchant it will also include developing and improving training materials, resources, and other relevant documents. To be considered for this role candidates would describe themselves as confident, clear communicator, analytical, and have an advanced understanding of software. This is a very project-oriented role and most of the tasks completed in this role would be considered billable. Travel may be required.
The role has responsibilities that traverse a broad spectrum of technical, business, and project accountability including project management, requirements facilitation, business analysis, technical solution design, solution implementation, and delivery of product training.
HOW WILL I MAKE AN IMPACT?
- Main technical and training lead for implementations
- Deliver the implementation of multiple and concurrent small to medium projects to customers across all verticals (K12, Corporate, Higher Education, and Government)
- Develops and manages project schedules and budgets and obtains appropriate client and D2L approvals/signoffs
- Plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on activities related to the project; including financial health and status of the project; all risks, issues, changes; deliverables; etc.
- Undertakes regular status review meetings among members of the project team and clients, produces regular project status reports
- Develops project control and reporting procedures and manages changes in operational plan, including adherence to legally binding requirements and best practices
- Identifies and assesses risks, severity and impacts by applying company procedures and methodology
- Manages client's expectations; understands client's point of view and needs while keeping D2L's interests in mind
- Promotes a Win/Win attitude with the client; follows up and follows through on commitments responsibly
- Works with their leader and project teams on post-project reviews/lessons learned
- Conduct consultation workshops with customers to successfully elicit and clearly document requirements
- Devise technical solutions using D2L and partner products to meet customer requirements, and guide customers through a successful implementation
- Operate independently to execute on customer commitments
- Collaborate cross-functionally to solution creatively and resolve challenges
- Provide training for clients and D2L employees to increase understanding of D2L’s products and services
- Develop and improve training materials and resources, including agendas, play sessions and other relevant documentation
- Develop training materials in various forms of media
- Internal knowledge and process improvement
- Identify and resolve gaps in processes and documentation
- Share knowledge gained with peers
- Keep up-to-date with D2L and partner products and processes
- Keep up to date with new technology trends to help facilitate client learning solutions
- Contribute to internal improvement initiatives as required
- Travel as required
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE:
- 3+ years of experience in a relevant position such as an implementation consultant or corporate/technical trainer
- Experience working with SaaS environments or the Education/Corporate Training sector is a strong asset
- E-Commerce Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience working with e-commerce systems is required
- Knowledge of eCommerce, payment, and catalogue systems
- Experience creating custom sales reports based on orders, voucher usage, and license redemption
- Training:
- Proven success developing and executing training materials as well as building efficient training programs
- Experience training large groups (both technical and non-technical participants)
- Communication:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to speak to and explain complicated concepts to a variety of different audiences with various levels of technical acumen
- Exceptional presentation skills
- Fluent in English/ fluency in other languages would be considered an advantage
- Consultation and Project Management:
- Ability to instill confidence and influence customers decisions in a consultative manner as a trusted advisor
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, resulting in creative solutioning
- Ability to multitask many simultaneous projects using strong organizational skills and prioritizes effortlessly
- Technical Aptitude:
- Experience with PHP is required
- Working experience with the following technologies is considered an asset:
- AWS
- CRM and reporting systems e.g. SuiteCRM
- Single Sign-On/Web Authentication
- HTML/CSS
- JavaScript
- SQL
- Willingness to travel as required
The expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience. It is aligned to ensure both internal and external competitiveness using market data for the geographic location and industry. As part of the total compensation at D2L the role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive, and more.
