Sam Bonwick is Head of Education at Optometry Australia, where he leads a team responsible for the planning, development and delivery of high-quality education content, tools, and resources to meet the continuing professional development needs of members. Sam has a background in educational publishing and is passionate about applying learning design and product management principles to continuously improve learning.
Deanna specialises in revenue generation, diversification and financial sustainability for associations and the business events sector. With 25 years’ experience, Deanna possesses comprehensive knowledge for revenue-raising, measuring ROI, membership models, fundraising, sponsorship, relationship management and stakeholder engagement, self-generated revenue streams and a strategic framework for financial sustainability.
Deanna began her career in the business events sector, working with Australian and international associations to bid for their international congresses. She has continued to work with associations as a Non Executive Director, and through her company Mayvin Global. Deanna’s company has supported associations with projects such as revenue roadmaps and generation and strategy with clients such as: Destinations International, Business Events Sarawak, Consumer Healthcare Products Australia, Community Broadcasting Radio Association, Institute of Quarrying Australia, Assistive Technology Suppliers Australia, Property Council of Australia and the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine.
She has also spoken on this topic at association conferences internationally including, International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), Australasian Society of Association Executives (AuSAE) and Answers for Associations. In November 2023, Deanna released a second white paper on this topic, titled Diversifying Revenue – An Association’s Guide to Kick Start Commercial Thinking.
