D2L, a global learning technology company, today announced its strategic partnership with Quality Matters (QM), an international leader in quality assurance for online and innovative digital teaching and learning environments. This collaboration aims to improve online education by embedding quality design standards directly into course creation tools.
Through this partnership, educators can gain access to a comprehensive, research-supported quality assurance framework when designing and developing more accessible and engaging online courses. D2L’s Learning Services Team and Quality Matters have integrated QM’s Rubric Standards into HTML templates for D2L Brightspace users to help course designers meet quality benchmarks across course elements. Templates will align to QM Rubric Standards throughout the template page layouts, guiding course designers to include vital course elements and design best practices during development.
Quality Matters gives course creators essential tools and resources for evaluating course and program design to meet the needs of today’s learners. In addition, QM’s professional development can offer faculty and staff the opportunity to develop and strengthen key skills in online course design and delivery. As a member of QM, D2L is joining a community of over 1,300 institutions and organizations across more than 30 countries that prioritize learner success.
