Accessibility and Inclusive Learning in Course Design
Watch now
This discussion is designed to consider ways in which learning designers can improve inclusivity in terms of accessibility in D2L courses. This will include a brief presentation on what we do to make our content more accessible. Several questions will be presented to the audience to generate discussion.
We will focus on accessibility in asynchronous online courses, such as closed captioning of videos, transcripts, audio, alt-tag in descriptions of visuals, and designing for accessibility software that can support inclusivity and enhance learning. The discussion will begin with a review of ADA section 508 and will include a discussion of tools that support accessibility.
