Opening General Session

  • During our time together, Howie will share examples of the impact we can have, together. Provincial partnerships like the one D2L and British Columbia are building can have a tremendous positive impact. What lessons can be drawn from those that have been on this journey before? What opportunities for collaboration does the provincial partnership enable for better learning across Higher Education, K12 Districts and Independent schools?

During this session attendees will have an opportunity for small group discussion to reflect on the opportunities for collaboration that they see across the province as well as how the learnings from the day will allow them to pursue them.

Speaker: Howie Bender, D2L VP, Strategic Initiatives

Breakout Sessions

Many tools in Brightspace can be linked to “Standards” (called “competencies” in BC). You will see examples of how these tools are linked to the Mastery gradebook and how to set them up in your classes.
