Day one of Fusion began with an Executive Summit featuring discussions on the future of work and learning, led by D2L’s leadership and industry experts. Keynote speaker David Autor explored the impact of AI on human expertise, drawing parallels with historical disruptions like the Industrial Revolution. The day concluded with John Baker, CEO and Founder of D2L, reflecting on D2L’s 25-year journey and emphasizing the importance of AI and competency-based education for the future.
Day Two
Day two of Fusion celebrated the achievements of D2L Champions and Excellence Award winners, and unveiled D2L Lumi, an AI-powered tool designed to enhance the creation of educational content. Several product updates were announced, including D2L Achievement+ for managing learning outcomes, and D2L for Associations, designed to boost member engagement. Additionally, D2L announced the acquisition of H5P Group, aiming to create more interactive and engaging learning experiences.
Day Three
On the final day of Fusion, attendees enjoyed a morning variety show with performances from Canada’s National Ballet School, D2L Champion Robb Nash, and more. There was also a partner symposium, featuring live demos and discussions with partners like FeedbackFruits and Turnitin. The conference concluded with futurist Elatia Abate encouraging attendees to rethink and empower humanity in the age of AI.
