D2L, a global learning technology company, is supporting Sourcewell, a self-sustaining government organization in Minnesota, with the launch of its new online training programs for public service professionals across the state.
Backed by D2L Brightspace, Sourcewell has reported a 96% increase in course registrations and a 300% rise in professional certificates issued in one year, since moving to online learning. Sourcewell shared that their organization’s community service licensing programs have also reduced certification processing time by 50%, helping childcare providers become licensed in just 30 to 90 days, down from 4 to 6 months.
“This goes to show that moving our courses online with Brightspace is helping more educators and public workers to boost their skills so they can serve their communities in new ways,” said Holly Doyle, E-Learning Program Administrator at Sourcewell. “Our colleagues involved in childcare licensing programs have expressed how much time and energy they’ve saved since implementing the program. They appreciate having more time to better support those we serve.”
With Brightspace products and tools like Creator+ and Course Merchant, Sourcewell has developed 16 specialized courses, ranging from teacher training to childcare licensing. Flexibility within Brightspace has helped enable Sourcewell to create engaging, accessible content that resonates with learners and meets the diverse needs of public service professionals.
