Delivering Excellent Learning Experiences at Scale

Challenge  Continuing decades of championing accessible education  As the alma mater of first man on the moon Neil Armstrong, Purdue University knows that every giant leap starts with one small...

More than 1,000 organizations in over 40 countries around the world rely on D2L to help them transform learning.

Our working relationship with D2L has been wonderful. They're so far above some of the other LMS platforms that I've had the opportunity to work with.

- Joy Karavedas, Senior Director of Research and New Program Development, Orange Lutheran High School

A three-year exercise in frustration became a three-month pathway to success once we started to work with D2L.

- Michael Crowe, Vice President Academic, Bow Valley College

You should absolutely, 100% go with D2L. I’ve been with them for 11 years. The system is incredibly stable. It’s incredibly flexible because what you need right now today may not be the same thing you need five years from now. Businesses evolve. Customers evolve. Things change, and D2L changes with you.

- Connie Ryan, Founder and President, Professional Development Institute

Planting the seeds of learning worldwide

When the COVID-19 pandemic prevented visitors from experiencing Longwood Gardens in person, the organization’s education team made that experience virtual by extending its at-home and hybrid learning options. Using D2L Brightspace, Longwood Gardens is engaging a wider audience with the natural world, helping to excite the next generation of horticulturists.

Empowering sales professionals nationwide

The CPSA wanted to make its national professional sales competency framework accessible for salespeople throughout Canada—but a reliance on in-person training and paper-based exams made it difficult to extend beyond the major cities. By harnessing D2L Brightspace, the organization has successfully moved to an online model and built partnerships with postsecondary education providers across the country.

Nurturing healthier, happier classrooms with SEL

Social and emotional learning (SEL) is a hot topic in K–12 education, especially since the pandemic has highlighted the importance of mental and emotional health. Move This World is working with D2L to deliver interactive video exercises that help schools integrate SEL into daily classroom activities, taking the pressure off teachers and contributing to measurable reductions in incidents and suspensions.

Simplifying how professional development is delivered

The Durham District School Board’s Professional Learning Hub, powered by D2L Brightspace, was created as an anytime/anywhere, personalized, on-demand professional development portal for 12,000 Durham District School Board staff. The “Hub” intelligently speaks to the school board’s HR systems so that all employees are greeted with a landing page that highlights online learning modules and resources geared toward their employee role and grouping. Course content is created by a cadre of departmental staff and instructors. Currently, more than 200 active courses and workshops have been made available to staff in the district using this platform.

Giving career development the green light

International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) certifications help public safety professionals work safely and advance their careers, but the organization’s training sessions and proctored exams were often difficult for learners to attend in person. The COVID-19 crisis prompted IMSA to embark on a digital transformation by working with D2L and enSYNC to launch a new education platform that will enable learners to achieve certifications 100% online.

Helping to reduce barriers with online experiential learning

As a leader in online education, Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) knows firsthand that online students face a unique barrier to internships, which are essential to a full educational experience. To address this challenge, SNHU created the Higher Education and Real-World Training (HEaRT) learning model, delivered asynchronously through D2L Brightspace. HEaRT connects learners with employers and allows them to build and demonstrate key skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, team building, and project management. Since its inception in 2018, over 850 learners have successfully completed a HEaRT experience.
